Mamatography ~ A 365 Day Photo Project

Mamatography 2012 Happy New Year!

Though I’m a bit in denial that it’s actually 2012, I’m still feeling that rush of excitement and good intentions that a New Year always brings. Things I hope to do…eat better, be more responsible, blog more, etc., etc., have been swirling around in my head over the past several days…

Together with that, I’m beginning a new project – inspired by Luschka of Diary of a First Child – called a Mamatography. Basically, it involves taking at least one photo every day for the next year. Beyond that, the options are pretty much up to me – I could pick a theme, or a project to track, or just take a random photo every day.

I’ve decided to do two – one to share here, and one just for me.

The one I’ll be sharing here weekly will be pictures of Bean. I am very excited to have this opportunity to have a photograph of her every day for a year – it will be so much fun to see how she changes, and I’m guessing it will make a really awesome photo album at the end!

The one for me is going to be one of me. I’ve spent so many years trying to get on track with my health and attain a body I can truly love…and so many years being unsuccessful. But as tempting as it often is, I’m not going to give up – and as this year starts afresh with those goals once again, I plan to track my progress through pictures in an attempt to truly focus on what it is I’m doing and why I’m doing it.

Though I don’t have plans to share that at this time, I’ll certainly think about it later on when I’ve seen what, if any, progress I make with it. :)

In the meantime, here’s my first picture of Bean for New Year’s Day:

Have you done a 365 day photo project? How did it turn out? Would you be interested in joining in?

    Hi Kelly,

I’m a friend of Lush and really glad to see you are inspired by an amazing friend. I had a little girl myself back in June 2011 and as her daddy went back to work, I would take a photo of her (or 5 or 6 photos) each day, doing something cute, to send to him, brighten his day and know his little family love, miss and think of him each day. Then of course, grandparents got on the band wagon and started insisting on photos too, then uncles etc etc … So, great idea to do a blog. Well done and good luck with the project

You have a bean too! My Bean got the nickname because his name is Boston and my husband called him "bean town" which is a nickname for Boston the city. It kinda stuck and now I call him my little bean sprout! lol

    That dress is beautiful!

      Thank you Paige! :)

I'm not even sure where we got Bean, but it definitely stuck. :) Even though she's hardly my little bean anymore – growing too fast!
