Redemptive Moments
Our family shares a bed, and Bean normally sleeps between the two of us.
The husband almost always goes to bed before I do, and I often go up there to find Bean snuggled up against him with the exact same sleep face as her daddy.
But last night when I went up, I found her asleep with her head on my pillow. It was the cutest thing ever (I really wish I had a picture)!
I actually had to wake the husband up to get him to look; I don’t really think his barely opened eyes and grunt showed appropriate appreciation of the cuteness, but what can you do?
(Of course, she normally does not sleep with a pillow and mine actually usually isn’t even there until I grab it from the floor or the end of the bed when I go to sleep.)
At any rate, after staring at her for awhile, I completed my silly sappiness by actually sleeping about halfway down the bed with my legs curled over toward the middle – I just didn’t want to move her! (Also, she had a bit of a stuffy nose so I’m guessing the elevation helped her somewhat).
Eventually she woke up to eat and I scooted her back over to her usual place, but it was one of those moments that just made my heart happy.
While not out of control terrible, it hasn’t been the best week and then poor Bean came down with a fever last night, so there was all kinds of worry on top of it all (I find it difficult to take my daughter’s occasional sickness in stride, even knowing it’s inevitable). But it’s those kind of moments that just seem to make everything OK, at least for a little while.
Have you experienced any redemptive moments over the past week?

I am always taking pictures when I come in and see my daughter and husband sleeping in the same exact position with the same expression. My husband hates it when I do that but I want to remember the adorable-ness of the moment. It always makes me forget the stress of the day to see the 2 people I love most sleeping peacefully. =)
How sweet! My daughter seems to know it when I'm having a bad day, because she always comes through with the redemptive moments. Sometimes it's a squeeze, and other times a silly game, but it always brings me back to center!
